teamTBB and its activities lies at the heart of the ultimate dream: we make life better - two wheels at a time^TM.

Together with 18 world class professional triathletes who will not only race for the team, but at the same time will also act as role models to improve the lives of youth around the world by providing hope and opportunity through sport.

The ultimate dream is a unique concept fronted by The Bike Boutique - owners of bike franchise stores around the world. The Bike Boutique not only sells bikes and bike accessories, but also provides comprehensive bike lifestyle services to bike enthusiasts through its franchise stores and business partners with the aim of encouraging and inspiring people of all backgrounds to jump on their bikes and improve their physical and mental well being.

In addition, The Bike Boutique is funding a bike movement - iwant2bike2work.org, which aims to connect people and communities to the bike lifestyle and has also pioneered bikeLodging^TM to we make bike commuting so convenient, it's irresistible!

Collectively, these 4 areas form a unique concept and together will help us achieve our ultimate dream.

So why teamTBB?

With our original roots in Asia, we noticed that participation in triathlon and other bike related sports in this part of the world lagged far behind that in Europe, the USA and Australia. Research showed, there are three main reasons for this:

1. Lack of funding
2. Lack of government (and media) knowledge and interest
3. Limited success of Asian triathletes and cyclists on the world stage

These 3 factors create a vicious cycle and are intrinsically linked: the lack of funding leads to lack of access to world class coaches, proper training facilities, inspiration and community support, which in turn causes slow progress and poor performance in athletes, low levels of success internationally, and lack of interest among governments, as well as the media.

teamTBB hopes to break this vicious pattern by acting as the intermediary between governments, the media, communities, sponsors and athletes, eventually becoming the magnet for rising talent. What was started in Asia has now rapidly expanded into other parts of the world as well, such as our social teamtbb project in Brazil.
