Jodie Swallow

James Cunnama
Mary Beth Ellis
Our star teamTBB athletes are lining up to race the iconic Avia Wildflower Triathlon race this Saturday. James says its an honour to race teamTBB’s sponsor, Avia’s flagship race. Jodie says she is in ‘good shape’ and is equally excited to be racing especially after having visited Avia's head offices earlier this week and hearing all about the mad shenanigans that go on there!
It looks to be a stacked field with lots of top pros racing. The race takes place in BFE which MBE says is in the middle of nowhere in California! There’s not even a town nearby but it should be beautiful and scenic. It’s likely to be a cold lake swim backed up by a hard hilly bike and hard hilly trail run.

The course is a sea swim, a 2 loop hilly bike and out/back fairly flat run.

Caroline Steffen

Rebekah Keat
Port Mac is a very small town, and Xena says it feels like her hometown of Mooloolaba so it feels like her home race and she says she is very excited to start! Xena’s been going great in training; fit and healthy and ready and raring to race her first IM of the 2011 season. We hope Bek will be racing the middle distance race here but unfortunately a crazed driver in Oz knocked her over. She says her Louis Garneau Diamond helmet saved her life. She’s recovering well but may have to make a call last minute as to whether she’ll race or not.
It will be a sea swim which exits into a new place for transition to start a new 2 lap bike course for this year. As is usual for Oz, the roads may be a bit rough and bumpy. The run will be a flat 4 loops that takes in a few km’s in the city. From the weather report, it looks like it could be a little chilly on race day.

Sunday 1st May, Ironman 70.3 St Croix
Distance: 1.9km swim • 90km bike • 21km run
teamTBB - USA athlete racing
Amy Marsh
Amy Marsh is last but most definitely not least of our teamTBB athletes to race this weekend. She says she’ll be up against a ‘decent pro field with Mirinda Carfrae and Cat Morrison both racing' and that she is looking forward to the race and seeing what the 'beast' is all about. Amy appears quietly confident that she’ll race well and says the hot and humid weather in Austin will have prepared her for the tropical conditions.
