October 6, 2007 - Subic, Zambales - Saturday saw teamTBB athletes venture to the Philippines for what turned out to be an adventure of epic proportions. Suffice to say, follow the blogs of the lucky, or unlucky campers, who ventured off to do the race.
Matty O'Halloran finished 2nd, as it only could be described as his own thrilla in Manila!
While Maxine Sear, running 3rd in the overall standing of men and women, had the wretched luck of getting 3 punctures. Thus finishing her race.
However, the bright spot of the trip - the irongirl apprentice, Holly Sutton - not only completed the race, sporting a few badges of courage of her new sport FAT BRUISED LIP, but sprinted home after seeing the finishing clock to crack 6 hours in her first ever triathlon race. We all would like to congratulate Holly as this is truly inspirational.
Tough is tough, no matter what age.
