Back home after 2 busy weeks I should be happy about my 3rd place at IM70.3 Barcelona – on the one hand it’s one of my best placings in an IM70.3 but on the other hand my time is disappointing. Now we have a long hard way in front of us till my first long distance race this season: Challenge Roth!;-)

Short before Barcelona Jo and I flew to Leipzig to present igli carbon insoles for medi at the OT World in Leipzig. It was a really nice and new experience for me. We were at the stand the whole day and had a lot of fun. Beforehand I did my swim and run training and the bike sessions between our demonstrations at the stand, which attracted a lot of people. On Friday it was time to say good-bye to Germany to fly to Barcelona. I was really surprised that the landscape is quite green and the mountains are great for cycling. Really liked the scenery out there.

The race itself was curios – the swim went fine, not perfect but it was OK. The first 40mins on the bike I was even closing the gap and put myself into 2nd position. Suddenly I didn’t get enough air into my lungs anymore and breathed like a walrus – this lasted for the rest of the race and I was not able to get back to my normal pace neither on the bike nor on the run. Never had such a feeling before…? Into the bargain I crashed over a wind blown carpet on the run and hurt my knee. Luckily the athlete behind me put me on my feet and pushed me forward – thanks for this help! At the end I was happy to finish the race and got a 3rd place! Now I need to build up every discipline and look forward to some solid training weeks! J Sunny greetings from my 2nd home in Mallorca
