After 2 weeks of training with Teamtbb in Leysin we headed off to Wiesbaden for the euro champs 70.3. I was really excited for this race but also very nervous. The bike loop was gonna be tough because it was going to be pretty hilly. Luckily we road a lot of hills in Leysin. Because I am not used to them as here in holland u can hardly find any..
Raceday: my start was at 7:35 right after the pro men and woman. While I was standing lined up waiting for their start I was wondering if that could be me in in a few years time?
The swim went pretty well I felt good in the water and after a 1.9 k swim came out of the water with the first few woman. I had a good transition so was off on the bike in 3rd place. I took over the girls right away so was in first position for the first 20k. Until we started climbing. The other girls climbed so much faster then I did so lost quite a bit of places there. I thought the bike was really tough so was happy that after 90 k I could finally start the run. The run went pretty well. We had to do 4 loops through a park which was nice and a little hilly. i finished after 5hrs and 21 minutes.
I am happy with my end result in my 3rd 70.3. 3rd in my age category (woman under 24) and 47th overall.
