The last weeks I had really great fun with friends and my family. I was happy to spend some time at my birth place. My little nephew had holidays and now he is back at school and I really miss him. We spent a lot of time at my parents' pond watching insects and Paul created the „Klammermann“-peg man;-)
All together we’ve spent 3 weeks at my parents home and now it’s time to leave everything behind us and start our big European Tour. Because of a closed pool we moved to Jena where we had good training conditions. Jena is almost 500kms from Bad Tölz. On Sunday is my big race: the European Championship in France. Therefore we have to drive another 1000kms. After the Challenge Vichy we have to move on to Wales where the IM is one week later what means another 1300kms. And at the end we have to get back to my parents home for car returning. That’s 1200kms away from Wales and at least we return to Bad Tölz. All together we drive 4500kms in 4 weeks. By the side we want to race 2 Long Distance races. Training was really going well and I feel that my fitness is back. A small race (Triathlon Jena) in my home town showed that I’m in a good shape. It was only a sprint and because of a little muscle rupture I couldn’t run as hard as I wished to. But at the end I won and had even the fastest run split – hihi. The best thing before this small race (which we did as a training for Challenge Vichy because this was the only possibility to get some flat kilometers in the legs) was while we ate breakfast I realized that the start is 1 hour earlier than I thought. We had 1 hour to pack the bikes, drive to the race, check-in and jump into the water. Great warm up for a sprint;-) Really good training and Jo became 2nd behind a youngster of the German National Team!
Now we are already in France and looking forward to race Challenge Vichy on Sunday!
