Great article on Nicola Spirig today, but I better point out a spelling/grammar error or people might get the wrong idea.

I love when Team TBB kicks butt and shows the so-called experts that their "predictions" don't mean much. This was on Xtri. Way to go Tereza!!!!

Women's results prediction:
1. Caitlin Snow
2. Kim Loeffler
3. Samantha McGlone
4. Hilary Biscay
5. Tereza Macel

Its posts like this by Doc that keep me coming back to the TBB site. Brilliant. (Ok, Wongstars blog too)

It brings to mind two "efforts" to introduce other sports to Kenyans assuming that their distance running talent will translate to those other sports. Cross Country skiing and biking.

It has also been my experience that sports federations in many countries actually hinder the development of said sport. There are numerous cases of Athletics Canada for example putting all kinds of obstacles in the path of athletes to appear in International events.

Cycling
Hughes participated in the 1996 and 2000 Summer Olympics, winning two bronze medals at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, in the individual road race and the individual time trial.
Hughes, an 18-time Canadian national cycling champion, won the silver medal at the 1995 World Cycling Championships (Time Trial).
She participated at the 1991, 1995, 1999, and 2003 Pan American Games and won eight Pan American Games medals, Also competing in the 1990, 1994, and 2002 Commonwealth Games, Hughes won gold in the time trial and bronze in the points race on the velodrome.
A four-time participant of the women's Tour de France, Hughes has won the 1994 Women's Challenge and the 1997 Liberty Classic.

They may have huge "rectus femoris' but Canada usually wins with our slim and wonderful Kristina Groves, Clara Hughes and of course, Cindy Klassen.  Smiley Smiley

I am very new to Cycling so follow it more now than I did in the past. I have read all of Lance Armstrong books, and books about him. He made a strong and positive impression on me, in particular the way he was very open about his cancer and his treatment and the anguish and pain that he felt. None of us who have not been exposed to this disease really, really know the fear and pain that these people go through. We know the terms chemotherapy and radiation, but we don''t really know what they are like. He educated me and many others. There have been other top athletes who have fought back from adversity and illness but I can't think of one who made such a huge impact as he has. You have to give him a lot of credit for that.

As for doping, I firmly believe in innocent unless proven guilty, and he has never tested positive. If they are catching people like Rebellin, Schumacher etc, why would they not catch LA if he has been taking something all these years?
