Helen is flying the flag very well at the moment. She is putting a whole lot of thought and work in into how to win races not just settle for second which is to her credit.
I liked her interview when she said she pushed on at 7.5k, she knew she had to try something different to beat Findley and she gave it a good go (and dropped the others around that point too). Good luck to you!

Jodie, are you hoping to try ITU again this year (once your injury is 100%)? I can just imagine you and Helen off the front on the bike, drilling it! The group would never get back on!!!

lets be clear here . simon lessing was mr intensity . brad or the croc ,was his best training partner , as he was the only one that could keep up the intensity day after day but simon was smart , he could read his body well . nobody found training with simon too easy it was all heat in the kitchen
I listened to a podcast with Simon (Endurance Corner Radio I think) & he says in there that Brad was a perfect training partner, as he was so reliable and would be prepared to train hard (with Simon) every day.

I think Doc told me once that the training with Simon Lessing was too easy for Brad when they trained together in the south of france (Salon or Aix en Provence) a few years ago.
Really? I thought Simon was a high, high intensity training kind of guy, no such thing as an hour training run with Simon (in his Olympic days), just fast, fast running!

I've listened to both interviews on IM Talk and I think we're talking about apples and oranges. 2 different coaches, with 2 different philosophies for 2 distinct groups of athletes, the weekend warrior type and the guy (girl) who wants to make some serious improvements. Great interviews from the guys on IM Talk, it's great to get different views from different people; then it's up to you to decide on your triathlon path. Train smart all!

I now have a good understanding of things I shouldn't be concerned with - periodisation........
Not sure I agree or maybe I mis-understood this in the interview. Doc slams periodisation but then says he and his athletes operate on a 10 day block of training. So my question is, is this 10 day block simply not a period of time, a microcycle perhaps? I know Doc doesn't do "classic" 3/1 blocks, but isn't this periodisation in another form? Happy to be enlightened.

Did I read somewhere that Tamsin will be leaving teamTBB at the end of the season? Where will she be based and will whom?
If it's true, good luck, I'm sure all of teamTBB and visitors to this forum wish you well for 2011.
