Hey Terrence!
I have been in Singapore the past two weeks where the weather is fine but the traffic is a complete nightmare, so for the first time ever I have been doing all my riding on a turbo, and surprisingly, I have found it quite fun! Done correctly, there is no free riding on a turbo, and you have to work pretty hard just to keep it going. You can basically simiulate all the different interval sessions that you do on the road - short ones and long ones, for hills you can just crank up the resistance! I found that having a cadence monitor is very useful as you just put your head down and watch the cadence - if it drops you know you're distracted or nodding off...
Give it a try, I think there is definite merit in doing a bit of a "turbo" phase....just remember to have a big stock of towels, drinks and music

Oh, and if you're a Bean like me, you may want to make sure that the bike is securely fastened and you don't try and reach the TV remote 3metres away while clipped in...
I'll post some more on my chat forum -
