1  General Category / General Discussion / Message for Dex on: March 31, 2011, 04:12:11 PM
Hi Dex,

I tried to reply to your message, but could not seem to get it posted. So am posting the reply here instead. Of course with my luck you will have already received my message 17 times, and this will be superfluous.

  Hey Dex,

Thanks for the well wishes. Yup, it is funny, does not take long to find a ton of other things to do, but still sorting out what to do in the long run. :-)

Sounds like you are one smart guy, you already learned the path to happiness is a happy spouse. I was just saying to someone maybe we should have a world wide day off from internet. That way nobody would be missing out on anything for one day, and we would all get a mini rest.

Hope you had a lovely vacation

 Thanks
 Tereza

You guys are making me teary eyed.
It has been an awesome ride, but it's not over yet, I am just changing roller coasters.

I will be following you all, so keep at it

Scottie- I have never heard someone say "I love that set"  so many times in one season, at the pool.
Even when I know 99% of others would have substituted another word for "love"

Jocelyn- believe me, I learned a few things from you too. Nobody figured out their own personal jet fuel as quickly as you did.

Bek- Some very fun time trial rides, thanks for boosting my ego and making me feel like I made you work, ha ha.

Xena- Have fun this season, and thanks for the the fun rides in Thailand, and uphill jogs.

Brett- well, someone has to keep it interesting for you. Roll Eyes At least at that race I didn't almost fall off my bike when you suddenly appeared at the side of the road.

Hi,

 Thanks for the lovely summary.
And thanks for following on the TBB website, I am sure the team will continue to add adventures and stories to keep you entertained.

Vancouver, sounds good, a lot less snow than Toronto. I lived in Victoria for a few years, and when we were moving back to Toronto the landlord of our apartment said  " lots of people move West from easter canada, but NOBODY ever moves back east". Except me I guess.  Wink

Not sure who all is racing this weekend. But wishing Maki and Hiro ( and Keegan) a strong and solid day.  Grin
I am not sure about the NZ cheesecake situation, but the chocolate covered licorice is pretty awesome. You might have to try it out Maki.

Hi Lisbeth,

Loved seeing the picture of you cross country skiing.
Sorry to hear that this pregnancy is not too much smoother than the first one. But wishing you a very easy water birth if there is such a thing.  Huh

 Take care

A funny sports movie, not quite along the lines of most movies "Saint Ralph".

Is that a new pre-race superstition then? Licking the car?
Have a great day out there.

Crazy but true. And I thought Doc loved the Canadians, with their accents, eh?, and pull "boy" instead of bouy. Ha ha.
But yes, would be nice to get a great Canadian sponsor, especially since for an igloo country we have a good history of short course and long course athletes. Now if in Canada we only supported our athletes a little bit more......well, other than hockey players...

Looks like things went off rack a bit, but hope you are ok Stephen.
Good on you Bella for not racing when not fully ready, I know that can be tougher than lining up and saying .... maybe things will go better than I think they will.....

Congrats James, looks like the US domination continues, they must be regretting letting you into the country  Grin
Coco well done, hope you have some watermelon at the post race celebrations.
Scotty, congrats on a solid day, know you were wishing to run more of them down, next time.  Wink

Thank you guys,

So far everyone is looking pretty relaxed. But tomorrow is bike check, and then I am sure the game faces are on.  Wink

Howdy,

Thanks for the place on the wall in your new digs. Very honoured. Too funny, since Doc has said to me before "fuel during the run like the Wongstar". So that's what I will be aiming for this weekend. :-)

Hope you are settling in nicely.

Hi again,

 Thank you.
The first ironman of course has the most unknowns, so often is the most nerve wracking one. It does get easier.  Smiley
