I liked reading doc's original note, but some of the responses are starting to sound like slowtwitch. You all are too good for this, don't go down to their level.

My 2 cents, and this from a newbie with more information than he should have.
Yvonne wanted to come to aus but didnt have the $$ so stayed int he US. She needs to work on her swim, she isnt going to get that from Mark
Chrissie is going to fail under Simon lessing, he is the most negative guy you can meet, and she will get nothing from him, she is making a huge mistake going with him.

hi not 2 fast , please not 2 fast , i read the replies , they are about real performance , not percieved performance or theory , big difference from slowtwitch . sir or mam , i am dancing on the inside , as i as a coach was thinking , how in the hell are we going to get somebody to their level with in the next 3 yrs . this is what the real business end of performance sport is about not 2 fast . bella wants to kick chrissies arse , like all pros would , and all age groupers for that matter . but most are too slow , or meek or shy , or kind to say it allowed . we who do sport , all have our dreams . i bet you have out on a run seen yourself , galloping for the finnish line against the best . well thats what we do for real . bella and the ironchicks , are taught no one , should be thought of as unbeatable . chrissie raced bella last year , in a 1/2 marathon and chrissie was 1/2 prepared and needed a toilet stop and the little celt nailed her . 90% of every other triathlete pros i know, would have thought that is the world champ , and deffered . not our girl , and we got plenty other girls , that if you give them the chance , they will run right over you . that is sport , and nothing to be ashamed of , or quiet about . i didnt see chrissie at hawaii slow down and say well , i havent paid my dues yet , so i dont deserve . competitve sport is a jungle , not 2 fast . each day the lion gets up and if he dont hunt well, he starve and die, in the same jungle ,the gazelle gets up and knows if they dont run2fast they , will be caught ,eaten and die ! i know the rules of the jungle and pass em on to the troops of team tbb . they are stark , when the flag drops the bullshit stops. here its, how it is . in all things , my advise , open and transperant . i leave the theory , to others , as i am too busy teaching newbies , who dont know the rules of the jungle, what being a pro really means . the harsh reality in the pro ranks , is kill or be killed . competive sport ,is not conscripted , people join on their own free will, but not knowing the real rules they work and work , for no reward as they think theory and hope is going to give them results . while the jungle warriors ,keep smashing them . i just educate them , on why that happens , any body that knows any of the five reffered to in the article , or i put it to you know them well , they are all supreme jungle warriors , they understand where i am coming from , and the 2 new LPLATERS should know , they are playing in my jungle ,now , and how fast they ran means zero , as a coach you go from hero to zero pretty quick , just educating them a little for free .

Well it all makes sense now. I found it a bit odd to see Belinda just zoom by Chrissie when she flatted in Kona without throwing her a CO2 or anything. And then to see Chrissie repast Belinda without acknowledging her, I thought, wow, these teammates are all business come race day. And that is why I could never be pro, I just don't take the sport seriously enough. But then again, Bek Keat is a pro and she somehow, at that moment, made a decision to help someone else out. For me, that's the magic of sport.

aaaaaaarrrrrrrrggggg!!! What you leave for a warmer climate and return to catch up and it's team O Canada!!! What happen to the male Americans? Okay all diaper wearing, regurgitating, thumb sucking , gameboy playing comments aside. Sorry- l left out "soft and tender" Is there no American males that want to be champions? Are they to busy sitting at the latte cafe in balmy Tuscon AZ sucking on a non dairy, non soy,non fat, sugar free lattes- trying to determine if they should start training this week or next and which coach they want this year? Wait stop the press i see Zach Ruble in the site bio's- Yes!- the next world champion from America to the rescue!! O'Zach deliver us gray trays from the abyss of L in this A you make a fist extend your index finger(for the american males that grew up on barbie doll instead of GI-Joe- that would be your trigger finger!!) along with the thumb in the shape of a L and insert on forehead meaning in this A- loser or last . he says here- self described Napoleon dynamite personality....that's good- means- he has personality. American corporations like that! = $ downside he's about to meet the rex kwon doe of triathlon ie. Doc................. since I'm off to vegas my money is on this kid to bring it home!! sorry Canada! save us doc!!! maybe a page from the marine corps is needed if there is any chance that another male American makes it to bootcamp.. i would suggest using a fire watch ie..guard- to monitor the Americans in boot camp- why you ask- it's simple -1) to keep the Americans from fleeing to the airport. 2) to keep them from jumping off the 3rd story balcony of the barracks. 3) from consuming a bottle of Listerine in the barracks head at night in a attempt to avoid the next days training with the purpose of becoming a sick bay commando......Zach were counting on you to save us!!! soon will all be reduced to playing barbie doll cruise ship, the roof is falling....there went team TTB this A....j

im glad it makes sence kt , because she does that in my team , she will be asked to leave . she was still competing when she did that , but you see kt she wasnt , she had given up , and believe me , you will see a different rebekah keat this year . gone will be the years of thinking well i tried and didnt make it . this year back with her old coach ,it might take a while but , she will be told , you havent started yet .You dont know what you can do with proper discipline , and the right advise , because i think she is so much better than she does. there is a line between participation and competing , i have no preference personally , to be honest . and if you ask any i have trained they tell you, that , my first line to them is kipling treat winning and losing as the imposters they both are . what i do is delineate for the team tbb athletes between the 2 some want to compete but they have a participation mind set . i bring that to their notice . others a very talented but want to just participate , i think i have shown i too encourage that . i suppose it comes down to , i dont encourage our athletes to bring a knife to a gun fight .

Hi Doc, and with that post, I have even more respect for you. You are so right about Bek Keat's frame of mind when she made that decision (in fact, she responds in interviews by saying that she didn't think she was going to win the race so why not help Chrissie), and I think that's why she decided to do what she did. And I think that's what your post really points out, how difficult it is to truly be a pro. Being a pro simply doesn't mean being fast or doing tons of workouts but it's about embodying being a pro, that means being fast, working hard, and making the right decisions. I will always be an age-grouper because I cannot embody all it is to be a pro. I would help Chrissie and lose my paycheck, I would skip a workout to spend more time with my family, and I don't train as hard as I can because as biologist, I know the damage I'm doing to my body in the long run. You are doing the triathlon world a favor by painting a tough picture when it comes to being a pro as it will make all those wishful thinking age-groupers think twice about turning pro.

Doc, Could not agree with your comments more. I enjoy this site because your comments are well supported with reason and/or facts. It was the post with the innuendo about Roch Frey and Kate Major that reminded me of slowtwitching. No facts, no reason given. Similar to the type of banter on slowtwitch about you. Roch may not be the greatest coach in the world in some eyes, but since 1997 he is one of less than a handful of coaches who has a female Ironman World Champion in his stable. Add MJ to the list, who was coached by one of Roch’s partners using the same coaching techniques, and there is two Ironman World Champions on the list. And of course Peter Reid is another one of Roch’s champions. You are correct that he has not produced someone lately, but given the fact that Roch has been involved in other triathlon business ventures over the past few years and not coaching professional triathletes full time, his record is still pretty good. Thanks for the reply. It will be interesting to see how all these changes play out and how the converts respond in the new jungle.

"Well ladies , there should be dancing in the streets , as while they might be 25min and 10min ahead of you now,the unbeatable , just got beatable , do your home work , and do your training , as their LOOKING FOR CLUES, just gave you some hope ,it wont happen over nite ,they are very very good ,but some one out there ,is going to blow a hole in their nieve decisions , and it could be you ."
Best motivation I've had in a while. I'll start dancing today (maybe not in the streets as they are icy, and my dancing is shocking). Lots of homework and training to get done in the next 9 months. 24min and 9min, 23min and 8mins.......

You should be ashamed of yourself Brett. Actually, all of you that have responded here should be ashamded of yourself, particularly those of you that are female Pro athletes. It's your bloodlust sheep-like mentality shown here that is exactly why you'll never be anything more than a lead age group male wheel-sucking blight on the sport. It's exactly why you'll never be anywhere near as good as someone like Chrissie Wellington. I don't even have a chubby over her like alot do, but she sure as shit has alot more class and professionalism than you.
As for you Brett, fancy having a little sooky-la-la...a little teary just because you headlining money-maker decides the time has come for her to move on. Hell, she probably got just as sick of your inane ramblings as most of the rest of us are. It's funny though y'know, coz i dont recall hearing anything from chrissy having a jabb at you, just that she is moving on to another coach... that's about it....
But you feel compelled to go and have a cry in your warm little "safe place" corner of the world here, with your teet nuzzling mignons furiously pumping smoke up your arse for carrying out what boils down to be nothing more than a malicious personal attack on an athlete that you trained for a number of years (low act), one of, if not THE greatest triathlete of all time (have you ever even done a triathlon Brett? Or did you spend those golden years of your youth doping up your greyhounds?), and of course attempting to serve a Shit Sandwich to one of the best short & long course athletes to grace the sport in Simon Lessing.....
Give yourself an uppercut Sutton, wake up to yourself....you're a deadset disgrace.

Ahhhh, yoyo, go back to your other forum. Did you need a thesaurus to write that? As for your assumptions about what has happened within the team, you couldn't be more wrong. There are two sides to every story, and you simply don't have a clue.
