Hi Angela

Welcome from your new South African roomie! Don't worry about a thing, travelling is the BEST of life's experiences, you will leave this camp only wanting more! The Wongstar and I will show you around no problem. Just one request - read Twilight or at very least watch movie! Oh yes, and explain all those ice games to me? Here in SA we only have real sports  Grin

C

oh my dear duracell,

no, you didnt just attack our national sport?!!!!! You see, hockey is so big in Canada, it s come before religion...every newspaper have front page dedicated to hockey every day there is a game... it s all about hockey...it s the pride of a national. You learn to skate before you learn to walk in the great white north! that sport is all about how hard you can be hit...not how hard you can hit!

now, i m concern for your security at the camp after declaring war to Canada with your statement;) Doc might have to order a CODE RED on you......That as been done in the past to disciplinate a reckless soldier!!!!  Or perhaps you could put a hockey poster of your favorite canadien NHL team in your room and i do beleive this will keep you safe for the duration of the camp!! I think you could easily convert Duracell to a hockey fan if you set her up with a tall, hot hockey player...   Wink  no more wars there!

 Howdy all,

Also new here, although have already met a bunch of you before. Looking forward to getting out of the deep freeze of -20 degrees predicted here in Toronto this week, and meeting you all at camp.

Twilight- haven't seen or read it, but read the Host, same author (but her first book for "adults")  Smiley

Hockey- lucky that I can cheer for Czech or Canada whichever one is winning, sorry Jonnyo! But also isn't lacrosse officially the Canadian national sport?

Welcome Teammate!

I thought I lived in a rural area, more like 25 miles from the nearest triathletes, but you are putting me to shame(65 miles away from any triathletes!).  Of course its understood here, proximity to other triathletes, is the one and only way to determine how "rural" your home is. :-)

Jocelyn - I'm wondering how many of your posts would contain references to tall, hot men if searched??!

I was going to say you had a one track mind..... but then I remembered the Vampires...(which also, if I recall, has contained references to hot men...) hee hee...Smiley

Yes, Lompoc is a very rural area with Santa Barbara the closest city.  It really is an epic area to live and train.  I'd have to say though, my hometown, Prince George, BC is even more rural!

It sounds like everyone on the team knows what winter training is when you walk outside in -20C and you're wearing more clothing for a long run than you would pack for a week long holiday!

I'm packing my carry-on with lots of reading but I'll wait for the Twilight Series when I'm at camp!   If I had to choose a series for the team,  Clan of the Cave Bear by Jean Auel. Anyone?

Lompoc?   Were you training with Chris Brown and Sara Gross?  I seem to recall that was place they were at one point....

Prince George as a hometown.... so sorry to hear that.  Wink
