the wongstar training in my neck of the woods, WOW! I'm ecstatic, hehe.  I was out there yesterday doing my usual ride and you're not kidding...It was HOT.  Well I learned something yesterday about 'heat training' is to never go out on a 50 mi. bike ride with only two bottles of water or else you'll end up in the emergency room being hydrated through an ivy.  Yep, that was me, it was kinda freaky, the most painful cramps i've ever experience.  I had no control of my legs, vision was blurred, slurred speech and my voice was echoing in my head.  FREAKY!  A slurpee at 7-eleven would have been refreshing but kinda too late.

Happy training and a friendly advice from an age-grouper...HYDRATE, HYDRate, HydRAtE.

holy cow Oglen, hope you are recovering ok!!  I only have 2 bottle cages on my bike at the moment but always bring cash for refills and plan out routes that go by gas stations/convenience stores.  and definitely a bottle of Gatorade at every aid station on the bike during those hot races...

take care!  maybe next time map out the 7-11's on your bike rides  Wink

hi , sorry to hear your dilemma
can i add , water is very decieving , think of your fluid  as a calaorie and mineral carrying device especially in the heat .
strait water , is not enuff .
it needs to be suap charged with atleast a nuun  type tablet , for the mineral salts .
then possible calorie carrying gatorade or powerade  to be in the other bottle

thanks doc and jocelyn, appreciate both your advice.  I defenitely have to be smarter next time, especially in extremely hot temperature.  I'm recovering well, just sore from all the cramping...  Cry my gosh that was painful, i don't wish that on anyone  Cry
and according to the lab tests my kidneys were starting to fail. thank goodness someone hung around to watch over me and kept insisting i go to the emergency room.

thanks again, have a wonderful day.
GO TEAM TBB!!! HTFU (i luv that phrase)
