Hi guys!
I was so pleased to hear how you 2 did at the weekend, and in fact I got my other half to look up the results on his phone in Antwerp because the suspense was killing me!!!
I also wanted to report a little bit of a breakthrough of my own (after the abismal effort you witnessed at Wimblemball, and our subsequant messages on here...) - I got a new PB, taking an hour an a half in total off of my 70.3 time!
I was REALLY close to doing a sub 30 swim, and the funny thing is that it actually felt really comfortable. As for the run, for the first time ever in an event I ran the entire distance! No walking! (and now I know I've done it once, in future events I'll see walking as taking a step backwards) I've recently added track work to my running which has made such a difference.
I was so convinced during the event that these times were a freak nature that I stayed within comfortable levels so I didn't blow up - maybe I should just go with it next time and see what happens!
Consistency in training is most definately the key, I still have a long way to go on the bike as this is where I seem to get overtaken by almost everyone - but it looks like I'm beginning to get my rewards!
But I've also made some big changes in my nutrition after UK event which paid off.
To cap it all off I was only a couple of places, about 10 minutes, off getting a clearwater slot at roll call! Next time !!!!
Thank you both for you continued encouragement.
Amanda
