Nice race guys, it's getting hard to keep up, TBB are averaging what?? 10 podiums a weekend!!! Shit I better hurry up I'm not pulling my quota!

Yeah what did u do in your penalty time bean??? Last year I got a 6min one and got talking during it to the offical and ended up scoring a job for my girlfriend!!! I got done while leading the race too!! Go figure, pretty sure I wasn't drafting the age groupers I'd lapped for 18km. Nothing u can do but once ur done except cop it, do ya time and get on with it....or do what that timo brat did in Hawaii and get dq'd at the finish. Or I think crowie didn't stop at Alcatraz one year and copped a 3 month ban or something!!!

Ha Ha Cam! Thats really funny!!! My sentence was announced to the whole crowd, who were obviously pleased that I was no longer a threat to the German "favourites", I felt like a complete criminal  Angry. The penalty tent was completely empty except for me (strange considering the size of packs that I saw!), the ref lady only had a regular watch (not a stop watch), so I am sure that her timing was very accurate indeed?!? I just sat around shivering because I was cold and wet from the bit of rain that we had. Eventually, I was joined by another prisoner who already had his run gear on! When I questioned why he could have his run gear on and not me, there was another discussion in German and English which lead to nothing, so I just accepted that I was having an 8 minute rest and then would run as hard as I could. I tried to emphasize that I am indeed half German - I mean "Koll" is a pretty solid Germanic name, but my lack of language apart from "Bitte" "Sh...."(same as what Stadler said in the Kona lava fields..) and "Goeten Morgen" I don't have much vocabulary...
I don't recommend the prison tent to anyone, they don't even have snacks or a pleasant welcoming commitee  Roll Eyes

It's a poor day indeed when the only way they can be sure of beating you Bean is to stich you up!

Your day will come...... and so will there's! I like to think what goes around comes around....

"Koll" is a pretty solid Germanic name, but my lack of language apart from "Bitte" "Sh...."(same as what Stadler said in the Kona lava fields..) and "Goeten Morgen" I don't have much vocabulary...

I raced there too, and had some problems with packs and drafters as well. I learned a bit of German, and the one that worked for me was : "Du sollst normal fahren!!!", I did so in pretty shitty German and I looked like this  Angry   and pointed to the guy drafting. The guy that heard that one looked seriously like this Shocked and gave me 10 meters. Never had a problem with him afterwards. Try it next time!

I think I passed you on the big hill in Glucksburg, with 3 motors blocking the road on your left side. I try to pass quickly as possible, no guy wants to be seen drafting behind a girl on the video and in between the crazy crowd. Grin

And congrats for both podium places!

Hey Bob! At least someone noticed the packs!!! As I said, next year I will be back and fluent in German! Oh yes the cars, I was dam lucky there too - nearly hit the deck when the car manoevered in front of me Shocked. I hope that you had a good race and it's a pity I never got to meet you - are you living in Germany??? If you beat me then it's game on again for next year! Did I mention my start number was 13???

If you were in the lead after lap 3, then it was you I passed on the hill in glucksburg. The crowd was crazy there, but not for me I guess. Best place to pass the leading woman.

The bike course was a little bit nervous, especially in the first two laps. Few cars and a few packs that were not legal, and I think too many relay teams. Those relay roadies don't respect the 10 metres, and jump in all rear wheels that pass them, wait until the next hill, and then use a jump on that hill to outsprint the ones that still have to run the marathon. Solo IM guy has to let a 10 metre gap, and then over take again, and wait until on the next hill and the thing repeats. That was a bit my problem at least. A few guys sprinted until they were next to me (sometimes there front wheel didn't even passed mine), and then looked to me to do the downhill work Angry, I was sometimes glad that were not too many officials, because that didn't look too legal from my site, but it sure was. There was one guy I wanted to give a tour de france mountain yersey. His mission looked like to be first on every hill. So annoying, but after 2,5 laps he was gone and I never spotted him again. I hope he had a real bad marathon. His stupid riding deserved nothing more then that! I had to accept those nervous first two laps and then wait until all of them got a bit tired of doing all those small hills too fast. I was not passed anymore in the last 4 laps, so it worked. Further it was a very fun race, and I had a good day. Tough marathon, both the course and my legs. Lots of hills there, not a real easy race for sure! But I will probably be back next year too. Great atmosphere to race!

I will take swimming more serious this winter, cause 90 km in the race is too late to pass the leading women! I got chicked 7 km before the finish by the winner. That woman was so small, I will blame it on hills and gravity instead of that my best possible effort was not good enough to not get chicked  Lips sealed
And I think that a faster swim will at least put me on a little more empty bike course. Less stress in the first two laps.

Try to win there next year fast as possible, as my goal will be to at least not get defeated by the first woman ever again!!!

Awesome race Bob! Did you win your age group? I am hoping to go sub 55 on the swim next year, but be warned plenty of good relay swimmers out there that hand over to those dreaded relay bike riders!! What's your next race?

u may not be able to tell them to get off your wheel, but you can always keep yelling "SCHEIT!!" really loud, and they might think you are crazy and get off your wheel
