I'll tell him that your AGers are fantasizing to his pictures, he'll be flattered I'm sure! We created a monster club a few years ago. There is a 10km climb here, not steep (5%) or so. To get the title, you need to go up it on minimum 55-12, on the aerobars. It was a lot of (stupid) fun. We're 3 now.

I'm afraid this is a rather long quote (from the autobiography of the English marathoner, Charlie Spedding - a man after my own heart).
When I heard Doc's interview some time ago on IM Talk and he spoke of AGers and athletes generally spending too much time on the bullshit and not enough on the 'meat and potatoes', it reminded me of this particular paragraph. It's funny...
'No matter how many people came to the seminar I was always asked a lot of questions. Everybody wanted to know about training, shoes and diet, though once I was asked what I thought about breathing. I replied that I wholeheartedly recommended it.
A big concern was always diet; so much so that I think a lot of newcomers to running were hoping they would be able to eat themselves into peak physical condition, rather than follow my advice, which involved quite a lot of training. There were various fad foods, supplements and diets, and I was often asked if eating this or that would improve performance. Once I was asked about cottage cheese, and I told them never to eat cottage cheese because it is the most fattening food in the world. I explained that I didn’t have any scientific evidence for this, but I have been all over the world and I have never seen anybody except fat people eat that stuff.'

A Westerner trying to sell supplements to Kenyan elite runners. They listened to his long winded speech – Kenyans love speeches - about all the benefits supplements provide for athletes. When he finally finished and asked if someone had a question, an old man in the back of the room stood up.
“So, you mean you want my boys to start eating these tablets so they can start running like the runners in your country?”

If a crew has a mistake, no point correcting the mistake if its not going to make the crew go faster

Thought it was good comment which applies to swimming a lot
