Denver airport (DIA) is east of Denver, quite a way out on its own.
For us it's 50 mins (Highlands Ranch), Boulder 50 mins. In distance about 60 kms.

I am just outside of Boulder (louisville/lafayette) (45 min drive) and have access to a facility for swim and lecture. Hotels, restaurants. Surprisingly really good sushi. We have a great trail running system, track (s) and easy access to best cycling routes that make the Boulder area a most sought after training location.
There is a also a great location in NW Colorado...Steamboat Springs. It's a ski town about a 3:30 drive but IMHO it is well worth it. Mountains, a bit of altitude, pools, trails, track, etc...This is a destination we locals seek out when we want to "get away". Dave Scott used this as a training camp destination for many of his Ironman's.

another from the Uk likes the idea of a week to 10 days in Swiss. agree with all Pantani's thoughts, his camp would be very good. Will we find out via the website?

Estes Park in summer can be very busy, I assume because of it's proximity to the east entrance to the Rocky Mountain National Park. I tried to book some accommodation in July this year and couldn't find anything at all. We stayed at Winter Park instead which had plenty of places available, even with the US National mountain bike champions ships on up the road it was still quiet. From Winter Park (9000ft, town population was 662 at the 2000 census) you can ride to Grand Lake (population 447 at the 2000 census) which is a very nice little town at the west entrance to the RMNP. The main road running through RMNP is Trail Ridge Road, which has been a popular ride of Boulder based pro's this summer. Don't know of any pools close to Winter Park though Trail Ridge Road is the name for the stretch of U.S. Highway 34 and is the highest continuous highway in the United States. Also known as Trail Ridge Road/Beaver Meadow National Scenic Byway. It traverses Rocky Mountain National Park from Estes Park, Colorado in the east to Grand Lake, Colorado in the west. It crosses the Continental Divide at Milner Pass (elev. 10,758 ft/3,279 m) and reaches a maximum elevation of 12,183 ft (3,713 m), near Fall River Pass (elev. 11,796 ft/3,595 m). Near the highest point on the road is another pass, Iceberg Pass (elev. 11,827 ft/3,604 m). Trail Ridge Road is closed during the winter, and often remains closed until late spring or early summer depending on the snowpack.

Hi, new to this forum - I live in Boston, so Switzerland vote here - 6 days sounds perfect!!!
Asia would be difficult - long travel, huge time difference to adjust to....though the timing would be great (first 2010 race is Florida 70.3 in May)
cheers,

Thanks to all of your for some great input!!
We are now in the very initial planning stages of our 2010 training camps for anyone who wants to attend a teamTBB training camp.
I would like to use this forum message to simply test some options with you all.
Asia Camp: first 2 weeks of April 2010 (option for 4 days, 7 days or 10 days)
USA Camp: May 2010 (option for 4 days, 7 days or 10 days)
Switzeland: June or July 2010 (option for 4 days, 7 days or 10 days)
IM Hawaii Camp: Sept 2010 location in Asia (option for 4 days, 7 days or 10 days)
Nothing is confirmed, but I welecome any feedback on:
1. Dates 2. Possible locations 3. Length
Thanks,
Alex

Hi guys, If you're interested in somewhere a bit different for your September camp how about Niseko, in Hokkaido Japan - about 90 minutes from Sapporo airport, and pretty close to Jeju. We hosted a Hong Kong group in September this year ( www.Nisekotri.com) and they said on their forum afterwards that they had found "Asia's Boulder". The roads are perfect, considerate drivers with a good mix of hills and flats, we've got a great 25m pool in the village, lake swimming nearby, and good running trails. Also because Niseko has become the biggest ski resort in Asia, but is still pretty quiet in the off-season there arelots of really flash apartments that you would pay a small fortune for per night in winter but are really cheap in summer. The local property & business owners (from all over the world) are really keen to attract summer business and will bend over backwards to help. Hokkaido food is something else too - sooo much good, cheap seafood, meat and produce... We'd love to have you here!

For USA I would pick a different month - May is a common time for tri teams to have their camps (at least the northern parts that have snow in winter).
How about March? or even April? Since you are planning an Asia camp in September anyway....

USA in May is good.
Anywhere in Colorado is my first choice, followed by San Diego, then Tucson, although I hear Austin (Texas) and Moab (Utah) have good training.
The last snowfall in Denver the past two years has been mid April (with good weather the week before and after the snow!). This year May was beautiful weather for training, and riding in the mountains was fine i.e. snow had gone and wasn't too cold.
A 7 day camp would be my first choice. Mid to late May would be my personal preference (Ironman St George on May 1st).

A 7 day camp in Croydon would be perfect, maybe pre Ironman UK in August. We could visit a different KFC each night. Then the last night we could have kness up in Tiger Tiger then have a punch up
