As a working age grouper, it would be great to swim, ride and run all day at a camp with TBB, but I can do that anywhere. I don’t see a TBB camp as simply a period of time away from work to train for an upcoming race.
What I would really like is to gain knowledge that I can take away with me and help me in my own training once I return home. I read Doc’s posts (and have purchased Iron Guides Ironman programs to compare and contrast). I have incorporated what I have learnt into my training plans, with good results. However there is no substitute for up close experience, and the opportunity to learn first hand.
As such, the location and date are not important (although my choice of your three current locations would be Swiss camp to visit Europe again, being an Aussie living in Colorado). The opportunity to observe and experience the programs, to be able to ask questions and get answers to how, why, what, when, etc, is where the value lies.
For those willing to make the financial and time commitment to travel to camp it needs to be long enough to justify. A nine day camp from Saturday to Sunday (over two weekends) sounds ideal for me, although for many a 6 day camp is more achievable because of work, family, money commitments.
