Doc:

I understand 'overtrain' and 'burnout' are overused but I couldn't think of another word.

So what you're advising is: work on weaknesses, don't worry about times/splits, but drop some of the intensity. Sorry about all the questions but I haven't quite learned to read you version of English yet.  Huh

I don't understand the difference between mental and physical intensity. Can you explain?

some times you are on the way out to train and you think not big gears again but after 30 min you have one off your best rides and feel great when you come home ,the next time you head out to train you think not again the whole work out just feels off if this last for a longer period its mental burn out ,time to have a few beers slow down for some time

hi
yes sutto ish , can be a mind ful
but think of it in baby simplicity terms
i am the guru of the kiss
principle
keep it simple , either stupid
or smart arse
which ever people want to think of me .
dont bother me
yes
work on weaknesses  , yes take the times out of it and the need to have to do it
enjoy your off season by doing something positive for your sport
that in itself refreshes you and makes you feel good about what you are doing .
over trained
is usually used by weak bastards that couldnt see themselves doing the workouts they see some athletes doing .
thats why they sports scientist usually , they looking for an easier way , ok ok ok not all ,
but the majority ,
its like shrinks , they lookin for the answers to their problems , meet some really disturbed shrinks  let me tell you ,or the nutritianalists hihih
how many of them had eating disorders when they were young  ooooooohhhhhhhhhhhh
i done it again , sorry ,
political correctness noit my strong point .
sorry guys .
but
overtrained first thing that goes , is performance .
gone dissapeared .
so if your going your best ever , then physically your coping .
dont over play it or over think it
keep it simple
as i said before ,
in a world that has gone nuts with inexact science as the gospel
that a pretty complicated  thing to do Grin
