Espen,

Do you do 100% of your swimming with paddles and a pull buoy? Don't you lose any feel for the water?

Tommo

No. 1st workout decribed over i do warm-up and mainset normal swimming. Then only 400-500m pull with paddles/bouy. 2nd is all paddles/buoy, from start to finish.

But what to do on 3rd session??

Here they go again: Grin

Lots off "specialists" giving advice. I`m sticking to my Catalysts and bouy Wink

I say let the "specialists" keep talking. Then when they get their arses handed to them from someone that decided to train like a triathlete versus a swimmer you can just wink and nod. Following the guidance here I was able to put the screws to my friendly competition (including former coaches) this past summer when I out swam, bike and ran them which has never happened before. They shook my hand after the race and then shook their head as the walked away. They got spanked...and they got spanked big! Triathlon is about being strong (physically and mentally). Listen to the slowtwitters if you want to look pretty at Sunday morning masters, listen to Doc and team if you want to be standing on the Podium on Sunday Mornings.  Wink

Ok no worries. I just wondered if doing all of my swimming with paddles was may be a bit much!

I'll just stop thinking and get on with it!!  Wink

Thanks! Actually I think I read the same in Bill Sweetenham's book in the chapter about distance freestyle training for age groupers.

I can't do any pullups, it is definitely because I'm fat!  Lips sealed

Fat, schmat, Jocelyn.  My wife and I saw you before IM FL on Front Beach heading toward Alvin's.  If you're fat you're hiding it very well.

hehehe I just saw this reply.  Grin  I just purged my closet of over 20 pairs of pants that I really can't fit any more.  does anyone want to buy an autographed pair of Wongstar's old fat pants?  I am sure they will be worth a lot some day!

Hey Wongstar, why not donate them to a hospice or clothing charity shop?

Hey Wongstar!

Pants in US are what are called in the UK trousers
Pants in the UK are mens underwear not calvin kleins but the 'y front' variety!

Suddenly 20 autographed pairs of Wongstar 'fat' pants is a different matter entirely
