Wow, are those people on slowtwits over thinking it or what?
Seriously, if you came up with a fancy name, dimples, and some wind tunnel data you could sell them to them left and right, like pancakes.
By the way, you are awesome.

thanks Brucie  Grin

now don't YOU want to buy the Drinking Game version of the Wongstar Magic Running SticksTM??

my favorite thing about Slowtwits is that they b*tch about how pros don't market themselves enough.  then when I run around saying I am an Asian Triathlon Superstar they say oh you can't say that--you are not Asian and you are not a superstar.  Roll Eyes WHATEVER!  You should've heard Momma Wongstar's reaction to the argument that I am not a "real" Asian!

we will see who is laughing when I make millions off the Wongstar Superstar Energy DrinkTM and Wongstar Superstar ToothpasteTM.   Cheesy

bruce
you have my permission to post this on slow twitch .

in regards to clarifying the wongSTARS  asian supa star
status .
it was me brett sutton , who delivered both names after both were earned in blood sweat and tears
miss wong , has been doing this for 8 yrs and had a dream of getting a pro liscence ,she  kept looking for clues  and never gave up.
she finally hit the jack pot  by contacting me .
we set about seeing if we could shave 2 hrs off her time .
now all you wise  guys know all no nothings that cant see a drop from 13 hr and change to under 10
is some sort of freakish performance , should hang your heads .
i would say most that are attacking my supa star , could nt beat her now in a two out duel over the ironman distance , but lets not sink to your level .
lets stick to the facts
i gave her the tuffest time possible ,when she joined ,  with my lack of political correctness  would have  had most packing up and heading home with in 2 weeks but she stuck it out like a trooper
so a 3 hr improvement
her standing marathn has improved over an 1h10min
while in camps she does social work with out lieing villiages in helping produce limbs for kids who cant
afford such help , that we take for granted .
her whole triathlon yr has been supplemented by her putting together the start of what i hope becomes a reaity.
that is  a social project to allow many interns to do what she has done this year with the view of giving many kids the hope of playing sport again ,or for the first time in their life .
mean while while she does that .
she joined a very hard bitten group of athletes who are far more demanding than some ,Light weights expressing their views here "
on entering this  den of excellence , she was viewed as a joke by many of what you would call  real supa stars ,
i call em lucky people , who dont have to do a real job but i again digress.
i had many an enquiry  of why is this very very slow age grouper here ?
they got the stock answer , she is being given her chance at her dream just as you have , and while she continues to give her 100% best , she has every right to be here .

well the wongstar  is still giving her best , she gives her best in training , she gives her best ,in racing
she gives her best for the team web site , and more importantly she gives her best to helping unfortunate kids in 3rd world countries .
i leave you with this  judgement, ask any that has watched her and trained with her this past   15months   what they think of the slow fat girl  in the squad  now,
and i am sure they wil all tellyou
that  wongstar  is a true supastar ,
and has a devilish sence of humour to match  !
lets not ruin  one of the great stories of present day triathlon
whatshe has done  is just phenominal .

yeah!  Good words Brett.

Tell the Slowtwits that I absolutely admire the way Wongstar goes about her life.
I admire Wongstar more than most of the people out there!

This year she has turned her self around.  She is night and day to what she was 12 months ago.  There are not many people who can do what she has done in 12 months.

She is not frightened of some hard work or hard races.  She just bites her tounge and gets on with it.  I like that.  And I am 100% behind her to continue the way she works and I want to see her right up there on the podiums.

thanks Doc & Bella  Kiss

It's been an amazing year and exceeds everything I ever expected.  My goals when I started talking to Doc were very modest.  All I really wanted was to get my pro card and break 10 hours.  I never really thought of anything beyond that, because that was my concept of "very fast."  Doc said those were very reasonable goals but maybe I should shoot a little higher?  But that's all I thought I could do "some day".  Like in 3 years or something.

Of course if I take another 2 hours off my time next year then I can win the men's races.   Cool

Magic Running Sticks...interesting. The concept of holding something in your hands seems logical. I used to always carry a small rock in each hand when I ran in college. It allowed me to focus on something other than running which I hated at the time. I carried them so much that they were the smoothest stones around and considered them good luck because they got me past the pain of running to the enjoyment phase. I passed them on to an old friend who was starting to run for inspiration and motivation. I need to see if he still has them...

But it begs a bigger question, is this why Chrissie holds her thumbs while she runs instead of a nuun tube or a stick?

Ignorance IS bliss. You just need to give yourself a training lobotomy as I say.... Grin
