Hi Doc,

I swim significantly faster in a wetsuit than without (at least 5 minutes faster over 3.8 kms) and better in the ocean than in the pool. I assume this is all because of the elevation I get from the wetsuit and the salt water. This must mean without those aids I am lacking the right sort of kick to provide elevation. Can you advise if there is anything simple I can incorporate into my swim workouts to improve this?

I usually swim 3 times a week 4 kms a pop - use the TYR yellow paddles and pull bouy a fair bit as per advice on this forum.

This is perfect timing for me to get this advice.
I've recently been cramping in my left calf during
longish bricks. I'm gonna try the kicking thing today
to loosen it up. Thanks Teamtbb  Cheesy

honestly,
you need to send pictures bewfore you start changing any thing to your coach .
the good swimmers improve with a wetsuit , and salt water .
its the way it is .
but chANging stroke has other issues , one must keep in mind keep it simple .
discuss it with your coach
