To show the rest of the World that we our not "FULL" of ourselves, every year on July 4th we take all comers for a "Throw-Down" competetion on Coney Island New York.

This year in 10 minutes time.  Returning 4x "CHAMPION" Joey Chestnutt won by obliterating 54 hot dogs.  He was well off his "World Record" of 68 that he downed last year.  He stated that he struggled this year due to(I kid you not) dehydration!!

The event was marred this year by the antics of 6x "WORLD CHAMPION" Kobayashi who crashed the event and was arrested.  He stated he didn't want to sign the contract with "Major League Eating" as he wanted to race , I mean EAT in non-sanctioned events.
Only In America are we swamped in details and images, also it was reported that Mr. Chestnut earned over $150,000 in "Events" last year!

Only 54?  Huh  I had that as a starter before supper last night.  Grin

Apparently, you do need to drink a LOT while chugging 'dogs, otherwise your saliva dries up and you become dehydrated.

Being held to race in sanctioned only events - sounds familiar!

I seem to remember theres an eating challenge that involves less weight gain - how many cream crackers can you eat, plain, nothing to drink 5 or something? is the max.
