What do you think would be male equivalent of Chrissie's performance in Roth (on the same, short course)?
I read an interview with Henning after the race. He said he and Jacobs slowed down after they were informed that they had faster split than Kienle&Stadler duo on the first bike segment. Is this what's holding him back? He "knows" he should be riding slower than Kienle so he slows down.

The men are scared, scared of blowing up and finishing out of the money, because they "went after it". You want to see the men go under 7:45? Guarantee them a decent payday, and put a big bonus up for the time. Give it a few years, to give them a chance to train up for it (because I think they're only training to go 8:15-8:25 at Kona), and it'll happen.
Or, pay an appearance fee, but then don't pay for finish positions, but for finish time. The faster you go, the bigger your payday.

ill let you in on a little statistic since i started ironman training and my statistics have been pretty amaziing lets not be all modest ,just facts i would have had 15 out of about 30 woman that are top class enquire to train with me in the men team tbb has had another 30 men all glorified age grouipers trying to be pros contact me . about training .
not one were in the top 20 , thinking may be this guy can get me to the holy grail .
none
now , why? cant train men? , do i have to list them the only country in the world at world cups to take a trifecta was suttoland and we did it 2 or 3 times . that was with men ,and they were real men no the reason is the guys know , they got it all worked out in their heads .
they dont come near me cause they frightened i might work them hard give them long boring sets . they dont need that for ironman he dont taper them for a month and most of all i dont like being told what to do . mate the ladies are just a lot smarter ,and are willing to sacrifice their life style a whole lot more than many male triathletes . i get em taking umbrance ,about how i say they under achieve , how i say the girls race is much stronger in performance , they cry like babies and when people ask me ,on behalf of an athlete i say this is what we do and i expect tell em please no show ponies need apply and that takes care of nearly the rest of them . that answer your question ?

That is something I don't understand. They want to be the best, but want to get there with doing the least amount of work. They look for the latest toy or "scientific breakthrough", and think that it'll move them from mid pack to the front. Only in the dictionary does success come before work.

there are some who train extremely hard but of course in the wrong areas . so , not saying all dont work , not at all , but they want to do the work with themselves in charge or join a group and hammer themselves thinking that going to make em the best the leader of the pack races wel cause it suits him ,and the rest are like sparring partners for a boxer preparing for a fight . no individual prep for them , and its the same in tri land

So the problem is in training, not in race execution.
