I just wanted to say this as it was really lovely to see.

Team TBB were quite popular at the awards,  lots of pictures taken of us and signatures were signed by us all; James, Tereza and Bella were the most popular  Smiley

A young girl had here picture taken with Bella and I, she was their with her mum and dad,  she had raced in her race the day before too.

Anyway after the awards, Bella had her bunch of flowers,  she often gives them to someone she likes rather than travel home with them. So she chose this young girl, and the young girl said "thank you, thank you", and started to cry,  she was really overwhelmed,  it obviously meant alot to her that Bella decided to give her the bunch of flowers. We chatted to them for a while then started our journey back to Leysin.

On the walk back to the car, we talked about how lovely it was that this girl felt so happy that Bella did this.  I suppose Bella doesn't realise that what she has done at Embrunman and all the other Ironman victories over the years is really inspirational to alot of people.

Anyway as you can tell I am so very proud of my wife then and always Smiley Wink Grin Kiss Kiss

people tend to only see the machine side of bella , but no one has given people more good will
to the age group triathlete , nothing is a bother to her , ive seen it now for on 9 or 10yrs , stephen now sees it all the time too .
point in motion , even having a blazing row  with the french girl that was helped all the way to run past bella with bikes and supporters , at the end of the arguement
the last words
said
" any well done "
bella bayliss is an honourable warrior , not once3 did she say  , coach why you throw tereza in the thursday before the race ?
bella gives out beltings but takes them  just as good .
she inspires me , and she inspires stephen , how she can be  so hard , and yet so caring .
that makes her special .

Well if we're doing a "Bayliss love-in".... its not just children and its not only Bella...

At IMUK I was riding my 2nd lap and Cartmell came past in the lead.. The guy I was riding close to sat up and said "great, Stephen Bayliss will be along in a minute. I got into this sport because of him. I've never even managed to get close to him but apparently if you shout him he'll give you a nod". He did, and Stephen did. Same lap another guy and I got chatting. His kids couldn't sleep because they'd met Stephen and Bella at the hotel and "they even took the time to talk to us, and they are like, triathlon royalty. I've got posters of them in my garage where I keep my turbo". The guy at my local tri shop has a picture of Bella on the wall in his office with "Hard work makes a big difference" written underneath it.

I've been at a lot of their races this year and both of them always make time for everyone whether happy with their own performance or not. Watching them deal with their own disappointment yet being prepared to make someone else's day with a photo or autograph is something a lot of higher profile sports professionals could learn from. Both hard competitors, both genuinely lovely people.

I share some quotes by email with a few others once a week and this arrived this morning, very apt -
