Does anyone know whether there'll be live coverage of any sort online?

Hey Mrs C, I've also had a sniff.  There doesn't seem to be anything, but maybe we can convince Flick to post tweets from the venue for the long race, and everyone else for the short course?

Looks like Aaron got 3rd and James 6th - James lead into T2 I think but had a 5 min penalty in T2 for drafting/dangerous riding??  Angry

the penalty was for it being a french farce
i followed the whole way and the 3 best riders who attacked each other all day up every climb
got the penalties
but then the draft buster was only seen 3 times the whole ride
and you guessed it  pinged one of them every time .
i told the race organisor he had the best bike ride ive seen there ruined by a pratt .
to drop the  french federation sanction , and let em draft
3 climbs of 10klm  or longer ,
it would be far safer .
its not like this is an itu or hawaaii course .
this is the complete test .
unless your chrissie and she can go down like a cow  but goes up like a motor bike .
every one else is made pay for descending deficiencies  not just climbing ones .
its the ultimate test .
and just before i get a load of but i tu this and that
both tim don  and nicola spirig   gave a master class in mountain climbing in the short one .
yes there are some old time triathletes still racing short , who can do it all and lets not forget mr hug
taking on the long one and walking away with a podium .
but outside our squad  its a dieing breed .

If you're in South Africa they're showing the Alpe on Mass Participation Series on SS this week. Next airing on SS6 Sat 13/8 at 12.30pm. Worth watching, and the commentators leave a BIG unspoken question mark hanging over the dodgy penalty...
