england lost when they picked woy
he always plays 8 at the back 1and 1 up front .
harry would have them attacking , roy is a park the bus guy .
gerrard can't play that way and he had 3 guys who are best paling off the striker in mid field plus rooney
not very creative.

Spot on doc.  Good ole safe and conservative Roy.  There was a chance to pick Harry and it was missed.  Unfortunately a few great players will have the next 2 years wasted...

don't worry
you have 4 , as you can't win at the top level playing roys way
its utter nonsense that england lack the technique utter bullshit
gerrard ,lampard ferdinand  rooney hart cole johnson all wonderful world class  attcking players intheir position , young no good under pressure but an attacking player none the less walcott not a footballer but a runner that chases footballs, and england pick park the bus roy , after the kick it out italian . harry would have said ," lads lets go out and give em a bit of british , go at the bastards and if they give us some trouble ill send on carroll to jump on em but lads foreword we go and be damned what happens lets have some fun "
its just one selection problem  the fa should be sacked .
i don't care if harry dog got a bank account in monaco I'm willing to bet every member of the fa has one too .
bloody ridiculous.

It's funny because as I was watching the dismal performance the other night I thought (briefly) about one of your posts long long ago doc as Gerrard was on the ground with cramp after about 70mins.  I recall you once ventured briefly into foootball and set to work improving the fitness of said team.  The team went on a winning streak but were so pissed off with your training that you had to go.  I hope I have the story correct but in any case I think a few teams today could do with a bit of that medicine.  They show up to training 6 times a week for 30mins or so, chat about what colour stitching to have for the leather seats then go on the golf course before hitting the clubs in the evening, having a fight and then do it all again the next day....

yep and the funny thing ,the bullshit training they do not to get the big pay boys bored with their training , accounts for about 50% of their injuries .
golf is murder for a soccer players knees , and to see them out relaxing with golf the day before is an utter joke , 4 hours session .
but they got all those uni types advising them on best practice .
as harry said ,
i never seen a carrot shake  make em pass straiter .

The tennis players seem to take care of making sure they are fit enough for a 5set match(well some do)

Maybe the footballers don't take enough responsibility for the poor results.  They can rely on other players or hide amoungst the team and the blame is often put on the managment and directors.

I guess in tennis if your not fit enough, it is only you thet suffers.

The footballers probably couldn't give a stuff that they are knocked out or the Euros.  They can go back and play golf and getting drunk!   Smiley

There clubs are probably very happy too, not having there players risking getting injured.  Smiley
