I used to have (until it broke) an M2Racer Power module which is basically a little attatchment for the top of the seatpost to which the saddle mounts and allows further forward positioning of the saddle. This (obviously) allows you to be further over the front end of the bike. It worked in the same way as the profile fast forward post (more or less).  However, you can't get M2Racer stuff anymore as they closed shop and for me fast-forwrd posts are no good as I have an 'aero' seatpost not a standard circular one.

Has anyone heard rumors of a product similar to M2Racer's power module.  Stephen mentioned a while back that Q.Roo were developing something.

Its either that or I would be 'forced' to get a frame with a super compact design like a Cervelo P2C/P3.........if I rob a bank that is.

Chars,

Andy

Yes a very good product if you frame doesn't have a steep seat tube angle and, as you do Andy, have an frame with an aero post.

It seems QR haven't released this product yet!  Someone should make one though.  Maybe you could speak to a local metal worker and they may be able to knock something together for you??

thats a good idea, maybe i could get my other fixed? it bent when I was on it (maybe I am to fat;)) just would like an extra couple of cm forward, though ultimately not sure how much difference it makes

so its metal worker or cervelo

hmmmm - tough one;)

though if you/anyone hears anything from QR or the like give me a shout!

Have you looked into someone making one for you?

I'm not sure how practical that is at all, but worth inquiring.

i haven't but it is a good idea - i am suprised the m2racer one bent! its meant to be titanium or some strong alloy - was a bit disconcerting when I was pedaling along and suddnly i had my face in the headset:)

its not a very complex design, I am suprised no one else has developed something better/anything else at all, seems m2racers was the only one and now they are out of business no one is making anything.

i will try and find a metal worker, not sure how easy that will be in Sydney but give it a go - any news of QR plans to release something or some bling bike company?

cheers

andy

p.s. if you ever find a metal worker let me know!!!!!

I Have found the QR adapter on this american website: http://www.trisports.com/qurootrish.html

It looks to be designed for only QR/Real Design seatposts, but may work with other makes too?!?!

Hi Andy, this is an old thread, but I have used an adapter identical to the one on the pic. It has also broken down after ~6months of training. I had this road training bike and had to use it to mimic the geometry of my racing tribike. There are foward seatposts who seems to be a safer option, but the bike handling is still going to be tricky compared to a tribike. It really depends on your budget.

Hi Vinnie & Stephen,

seems that it wasn't just mine then! glad it didn't happen in a race. i actually have a tri-bike, its a PX-Stealth small but I have  reasonably long legs but quite a short torso so I need an extra couple of cm or so or its sitting on the tip of my saddle for 180km:) Currently I also have what I think is the longest saddle - Fiziik Arione Tri saddle, but stillr really my position is comfier and better with that extra reach I had

HOWEVER!!!!

I have found this! http://www.vk-international.com/engels/overig_engels.htm

I do not know if it is any good but looks like the right thing, guess it depends how load bearing it is (unlike the m2racer). I have contacted the distributor in Oz where I am and the manufacturer who I asked a few questions to. If it is suitable I will post what I find - if its any good maybe TBB can stock it;) We can't be the only ones who have this prob - especially now so many bikes have integrated/aero seatposts so you cannot use a standard 27.2mm circular forward post like profiles one.

Anyways, will report back

Andy,
There are some very good seatposts out there now that will do exactly what you are asking from your adaptor.
Serfas make one which can turn both ways.
Alternatively the ISM Adamo saddles work a treat in enabling you to get much further forward without any change to your seat post.
I have a Cervelo Soloist and have recently added an ISM Adamo racing saddle pushed right forward on the rails. I am now in a relative seat angle position of close to 78 deg. Its suprisingly very comfortable which I really didnt expect and just knocked over a 160k ride today aero the whole way - very very comfortable and aero considering my standard road geometry frame !
Food for thought: The may not look that sexy - But it cant always be about the looks can it ?

Hi Scott

Unfortunately my seat post is an aero - i.e. flat one rather than round (i take it the serafas one is standard circular 27.2mm?). I would like to try and adamo ISM for comfort as well as reach. i have a fizik arione tri and i have seen a pic of these side by side and the fizik does look longer, but the rails look longer on the ISM so it could be a viable option I agree. My seat angle is 76mm at the moment so if I can creep that up all the better - so am well up for some ISM action:)!

Cheers

it is, even if i make it white with titanium rails and a carbon/titanium extender

i think the only way I can get round this is to ad carbon nokons for offsetting purposes, though I fear I still will have to wear white oversocks every day of my life to compensate even 1% Embarrassed

Looks more solid than the M2racer, see what you can find out from the manufacturer.
