Hi Bella.  I know you have done IMFL several times, and you have done very well (I saw you there last year when I was volunteering in transition).  For that reason, I'd like to get your opinion on wheels for the event.  I am just an age grouper looking to complete my first ironman at Florida in November.  I have been looking at purchasing either Zipp 404s or 808s, and most people tell me I should get the 404's because of the weight and crosswind factor, in addition to the fact that they are versatile if I do triathlons that are not so flat in the future.  However, instead of purchasing them, I have decided that it is more feasible for me to just rent a set for the Ironman, and save the rest of the money!  That being said - if it's for IMFL only - would you recommend the 404s or 808s?  I am a female, 5'5, 123 lbs, and I ride an Orbea Ora.

Thanks in advance for your (and anyone else's!) advice and opinions on this.

Hi Lanasain

ThankYou for your message.
In the past 6 years that I have raced IM FL,  I have found that there is very little side winds so I think either of your wheel choices are fine.   In years gone by I have used wheels similar to 404's and I think they are perfect.
Again, this year, I will be using similar wheels to that.

All the best in your training till Nov 1st!
See you there
Bella
