I'm temporarily in a location that has no access to a pool.  I'll be here for about 6 more months, so for that time, what can I do to help maintain my swim fitness?

I've been using elastic bands to do some swim simulation, but it just doesn't seem adequate.  Any suggestions?

get an old skate board
then turn the wheels around side ways .
then get some garden gloves for your hands
and there you go
you do land  based swimming ,
the skate board  across the front of the ankles
and way you go ,
swim eer  i mean hand walk paddles 10 x 100 of that and see
how it feels eating your dinner for a couple of nites
burn baby burn ,
will be come your favourite song
