o.k .....

how do they get these rankings? is it just based on frequency of racing, because if it is, ironaman/long distance shouldn't be ranked this way! i would like to know how they come up with these rankings and who they are actually governed by?

cheers,
m

Have to agree. Looks like high frequency takes you to the topp. For me the to world best are MCcormack and Chrissie. And they are until new champs are crowned in Kona in october.

Reason: Kona is the only place where everyone actually is put up agains each other. And I do think some people on that list will strugle to defend their place on it come october....?

I know, I am trying to tell everyone.

apparently I am and Bella

I have kept a Grand Prix ranking system on my website for 2007 and 2008.

Yes Indeed you both are currently top for 2008.

Points are awarded for top 8 finishing like the Formula 1 grand prix. IM events only. Kona points are will be doubled.

http://www.neilhammond.com/ironman/GrandPrix2008.htm

Needs updating since I have only posted result though China this year. But you have both extended your leads. Also TBB dominates the women's standings

Current status
Men: Bayliss (42 Pts), Vabrousek (24), Anderson (22), Vernay (20), Sabatschus (18)
Women: Comerford (54 Pts), Biscay (33), Granger (30), Ferguson (22), Gollnick (22)

You are all doing wonderful things for the UK in the country standings too. Top Bombing!

Now. You both did the double in South Africa. Then you learned to do the same thing on an Island. Progress. NOW, you have to do it on a smaller Island.

Hi Stepho,

I just spend the last 2 hours recalucating all the stats and you are 100% correct eventhough the stats were off by 2 points, so you are on 125 instead of 127, but that makes no difference to your number #1 spot at all...  Grin

Man I love statistics as per old banking days, except today as the stats did not work for some big boys on Wall Street... Undecided

Congrats to all as stats or no stats, nobody can take away the massive results you all have achived this year so far!!

Bella, very proud of that #1 spot for you and #1 - #5 for all teamtbb girls.

Hey Steve we should print out some shirts with your newly discovered status, and then wear it around Kona!

No point. Everyone knows already. Stephen was the last person to find out. He was just too busy training and racing to worry about the score.
