Name: Mathias Hecht
Nationality: Swiss
Date of Birth: 26 May 1980
Height: 180 cm
Weight: 71 kg
How do you prepare for an event: Focus and routine. I prepare to win and not just to race.
Best remembered for: My love and passion for the sport
Role Model: Not just one person.
Favourite Food: Pizza
Favourite Music: Jack Johnson to relax, AC/DC for motivation and energy boost
Favourite Movie: Without Limits (Steve Prefontaine story)
Other pastime/hobbies: Studying; watching my favourite TV sports (skiing, crosscountry skiing, cycling, tennis, swimming); hanging around in a nice café (with a good coffee)
How do you relax: Going out for a good coffee
Personal Motto: Doing everything possible to see where my limits are. Everything less than giving my best is just not good enough for me.
Favourite Quote: "I don't want to win unless I know I've done my best, and the only way I know how to do that is to run out front, flat out until I have nothing left. Winning any other way is chicken-shit." Steve Prefontaine
What would be your cycling tip to the average rider? When you get passed by me please ask nicely if I am ok with you sitting on my wheel before you do so.
What is your personal cycling goal for 2012? Be so strong on the bike that I can lead all day and still run a sub 2.50h off the bike.
What's in your transition bag that you can't live without: Water and Energy Gels or Bars. This would keep me alive for a few days.... ;)
