James and Jodie are ready to race Ironman South Africa this weekend.  After a strong win in Challenge Roth last year, James is ready to grab another Ironman win to add to his collection.  Jodie has started and led for most of her two Iron distance race attempts but has not finished one yet.  This time she has her eye on not just the finish line but the win.  We are very excited to watch both James and Jodie gunning for the first Ironman titles for teamTBB in 2013.

The race will be challenging and promises to be fast; it is one of the fastest courses on the circuit if the weather cooperates.  The weather could be anything from very hot and humid to cool and windy.  But regardless, James and Jodie will be ready to battle for the win.  The race will start with a swim in the sea move on to flat but windy bike course, and finish with a fast run course.  The race fields are strong but not stacked like Ironman Melbourne; there is no one starting that should prove unbeatable by our teamTBB stars.

James told us "this race is where it all began for me, as a volunteer in 2005/2006, and my first Ironman in 2007. After a podium in 2011, and being unable to start in 2012 due to injury, I am looking forward to finally winning my home race. It won't be easy, with some stiff competition but I am looking forward to the challenge. And with some less-than-impartial crowd support to cheer me on it should be a great event!"
