Andrej Vistica successfully defended his 2013 title at the Porec Long Distance Triathlon last Sunday the 12 of October ending his season on a high.
After coming out just behind the lead pack in the swim, Vistica was able to catch the lead group on the bike coming into T2 in a good position to try and take control of the race on the run. With only 5km to go on the run, Vistica was able to catch the leader and place himself at the front to the finish line beating Dejan Patrcevic who came in second and Marin Koceic who secured third overall.
Vistica had this to say about his race
It was a hard race. I had a bad swim and lost maybe a minute to a group that I usually swim with. At around the half way point of the bike I caught the group. I tried to get away but couldn't. Bejing olympian Pavel Simko from Slovakia was still around 2 min in front of us at the start of the run. I slowly erased the deficit and passed him in the last 5k. Second was Dejan Patrcevic and third Marin Koceic.
